Hey guys, just a quick nail of the day for you, Autumn inspired. I love Autumn, the weather, the leaves falling off the trees and the makeup looks! Today, it is a Barry M Nail Paint in ‘Raspberry’ which my friend Grace got for me! It is a beautiful raspberry shade, perfect for Autumn. These are £2.99 each from Boots and Superdrug but Grace found it almost brand new at a car boot sale for 10p!
I have another Nail Paint from Barry M in the shade ‘Peach Melba’ which is beautiful but it needs 2+ coats. This is lovely, it only needs 1 or 2 thick coats, which is great as I am really impatient and I never wait long enough for it to dry. I think the Barry M brushes are good but they are quite thin so the application can be tricky. This also didn’t last very long, with one thick coat and no base or top coat it lasted around a day or two which isn’t that bad but it could be better.
Only needs 1/2 coats
Overall, I love this nail polish and I will be using it a lot this Autumn! Thank you Grace! Hope you all had a great day, I had a stressful day today 😦 So I used a face mask as soon as I got home! (Which I will post about soon!) Please comment below! Which is your favourite Barry M polish?? Xx
Maybelline Baby Lips
Hey Guys, This is a review on the Maybelline BabyLips, I only have 2 shades which are ‘Peach Kiss’ and ‘Hydrate’. There was a HUGE craze with these a while ago, so I picked up ‘Peach Kiss’ to see what all the fuss was about. I was suitably impressed! At £2.99 each from Boots or Superdrug, I would definitely pick one to two up if you don’t already have some! 🙂
Peach kiss- A lovely peachy shimmery colour with a subtle shimmer running through it. This has almost pinky/gold tones and it gives a really nice natural finish on the lips but I find it can makes my lips feel a bit, I don’t know, gritty? This may be just me though as my lips can get quite dry. This smells lovely and peachy.
Hydrate- I only picked this up a few days ago and I already love it. It is clear, not tinted and it smells really fresh, I think it’s lemon/citrus or something? This is very good and moisturising and might be my favourite of the two.
Baby lips promise to moisturise for up to 8 Hours, in my opinion they are not very long lasting but that’s with eating and drinking and stuff. Anyway, I think these are really great budget friendly lip balms! They have loads of different BabyLips ranges in America, and I am dying to get my hands on Grapevine, which they don’t sell here in the UK 😦 . But they have recently launched some of the ‘Electro’ Balms in the Uk and I have ‘Berry Bomb’, keep an eye out for a review soon! Xx
I love the packaging!
Good moisturising lip balm
Not very long lasting
PS In the background it is the DIY magazine which had an article on Gerard Way!! 🙂
Double review! (Models Own Microdots & Claire’s Pale Lilac)
I have just literally received Models Own Microdots in the post. I ordered it the other day from Nail Polish Direct and the delivery is really speedy! I saw this on their website and it is brand new for summer so it isn’t in Boots or Superdrug yet. This is a clear polish filled with millions of tiny round hexagon shoes. The colours are light blue, dark blue, lemon yellow, orange and pillar box red. The shapes are matte and they give a really nice effect. I have just put it on now and I am really impressed. I found that it is better if you dab it rather than swipe it on as the shapes are distributed more evenly. You can use this as a top coat or over your favourite nail polish. i think it would look great over black or white but i have used it over lilac. I like this because it looks great and it is really easy to apply, I don’t like fiddling around with nail art but this is really quick and simple. I would rate this 5/5. This was £5.
Next, is Claire’s Pale lilac, i got this as a gift and it is my first Claire’s nail polish. I haven’t used this before as it isn’t really my colour but actually I was really surprised. The colour looks great with the microdot polish as it doesn’t clash with the dots. It is just a very pretty pale purple or lavender. This took 2 coats to reach the opaqueness I wanted.(Ok, I don’t know whether opaqueness is spelt right.) These are reasonably cheap at £2.50 each and actually they are pretty good and I would rate it 4/5 because I would definitely reuse and possibly repurchase it it but it probably isn’t my best nail varnish. The brush is ok and it applies quite easily. This colour is perfect for spring or summer and I really like it!
My holy grail nail varnish!
This is quite possibly my all time favourite nail varnish, it is Rimmels lycra pro nail varnish in the shade ‘Grape Sorbet’. I love the colour and I think this is my 2nd or 3rd bottle! They are only £4.50 each and I just love them. The colour is great and I love the matte/marble effect it makes. Also, the brush is amazing, it glides on really well and it is a maxi brush so it is really neat and easy to use. I love every thing about them and I would rate these 10/10. They have lots of other shades, but this hasto be my favourite, even if it is pink 🙂
L’oreal Paris glamshine balmy gloss Review
I have a balmy gloss glamshine in the quite natural shade ‘912 sin for peach’ at the fairly reasonable price of £6.99 although I would not describe it as cheap. There are 6 quite bold shades but this was definitely the most natural for me. When I got home I put it on and it was amazing! It was really easy to apply as are most lip crayons. It is also very moisturising and refreshing. It was a really nice shade of kind of dusky pink. I first saw this in the popular ‘Glamour’ magazine and it is a great buy. It is actually my first lip crayon and certainly not the last. It doesn’t really have a scent and is quity shiny and glittery when you apply it, which I love. It is not at all sticky and it stays on for a reasonable time. Also it is quite pigmented, which is great. I would 100% recommend this to anyone and the bolder colours are perfect for spring or summer 🙂
Maybelline 24hr colour tattoo cream eye shadows
I have heard so much about these from beauty vloggers, that I decided I just had to buy one! I found these in Superdrug and it was buy one get one half price, so I decided to buy 2. I have recently bought 65-Pink gold and 40-Permanent taupe. I have used them both and the taupe is a really nice natural colour, but it is quite dark. That doesn’t bother me but it depends on what you like. The pink however is really shimmery and has faint gold uundertones. They are both really pigmented and I love the consistency. I really would recommend these! Most people seem to have the On and on bronze and the Permanent taupe so I might buy that another time…
