How to save up your money!!
There are so many drugstore dupes nowadays, you will find you often don’t need to spend a lot! For example, Clinique Chubby Sticks or Naked palettes, there are ao may dupes for over a quarter of the price! When a new high end idea or product is released, lots of cheaper brands usually copy and release a cheaper alternative which is still great quality. I hope to do a post in drugstore dupes soon!
I know, who wants to be on a spending ban, but it’s not as hard as you think. Do a ‘No buy’ month where you only buy essentials. Do not impulse buy! When you are about to buy something, you need to think whether you really need it or whether you can live without it. I find shopping lists really helpful or making a budget so that you don’t overspend or impulse buy things you don’t need. Make a wish list as you go along and at the end of the month, calculate all the money you have spent!
Budget friendly brands
The reason I started a budget beauty blog is because I ave lots of money to spend and there are loads of amazing cheaper brands out there with great products from just £1. My favourite brand us probably Maybelline but I love MUA.
I hope you enjoyed this post, it’s a bit different to my normal post but I felt like doing something’s a bit different. Saying all this it is good to occasionally treat yourself (which I might also do a post on soon). I am currently on a beauty spending ban throughout October and I will tell you how much I have saved when I have finished. I will post the second part of my birthday haul soon! How do you save money?? Xx

How to do a steam facial
I did my first steam facial today, they are meant to be good for your skin beacause they open up your pores. First, boil the kettle and pour the water into a big bowl. Then, add a few drops of essential oils such as lavender or peppermint. Alternatively, you can use herbal teabags like camomile or mint. This step is optional but I like to add a little something. Then lean over the bowl for 5-10mins and absorb the steam. Or, you could use a Lush Toner Tab which you add intead of essential oils, which range from £1 to £2.50.
Make a lip scrub
First, mix together 2 tsp of plain Vaseline with 1-2 tsp of granulated or caster sugar. Apply to your lips and gently wipe of with a damp flannel. Then apply a moisturising lip balm. I recommend flavoured vaseline or any other lip balm you own.
Make a face sugar scrub
To start off with, mix 2tbsp of oil with 3tbsp of caster or granulated sugar. Add some lemon, lime or orange juice for extra zing! Rub gently and apply all over your face, around your eyes and mouth. Then gently rub off with a flannel. After washing off, apply a gentle face ceam of your choice, I use Simple face cream or The body shop’s Vitamin E face cream, but the Simple face cream is much more affordable.
Save money on toiletries!
I have just thought of this idea and I think in the long run, it could save a lot of money. When you are looking to try a new product, like shower gel or shampoo. Instead of buying a full sized bottle to try and not being sure you will like it, buy a travel size as a kind of sample or tester to see if you like it. If you do, you can go and buy a full size version. If you don’t like the product, you haven’t lost a lot of money and you won’t feel pressured to use it up if you don’t want to. And they are really handy to take on holiday, I always have a few Body Shop minis in my collection!
Make a face mask!
Mix together a few tablespoons of natural yoghurt with some oats and a teaspoon of honey. Apply, then wash off after 5 minutes, your own home made face masks!
Have your own DIY spa at home
To start off with, run a bath and make sure you have lots of time to relax. First cleanse your face with Simple’s kind to skin facial wash or your favourite cleanser. Next, apply a face mask. My favourite face mask brands are Superdrug and Montagne Jeunesse, but you can use whatever you want. Then, place a lush product in the bath (optional), you can use a bath bomb, a bath melt, bubble bar or anything else you have. I would really recommend the Creamy Candy bubble bar for only £2.60! Then, light some scented candles, I use ‘Yankee’ and relax in your bath. If you want you can use a hair mask, but this is totally optional. After your bath, rinse or peel off your face mask and moisturise your body, I recommend The Body Shop’s body butter, I use the Cherry blossom one, and it smells really fruity and fresh :). I hope you liked my tutorial for a mini spa at home!
How to make your own nail varnish
First, get some old eyeshadow and some clear nail varnish. Then scrape out your eye shadow into a small freezer bag and gently crush it till it is a fine powder. You don’t have to do this if it is already a powder shadow. Then pour this into the clear varnish and shake thoroughly, this should need around 2-3 coats to turn opaque,
